Redundant | Green Day
I’ve been listening to Nimrod a lot recently. I put it in the car last week on a whim to accompany me on my designated driving duties and I am certainly glad I did.
I will admit until last week I probably hadn’t listened to the album once since I was 15…and I’m kind of glad. There’s something magical about re-discovering music from your past (is 20 old enough to refer to 15 as your “childhood”?- that doesn’t feel quite right yet), especially from the time when I really started to get into music. A lot of these songs were some of the first I power chorded my way through when learning guitar.
I just wrote my first song in about 6 years.
I’m trying to figure out how thin (or thick) the line is between compassion (thanks Dalai Lama) and forgiveness and just letting people walk all over you.
Suggestions are welcome.
